Did you know that, of all the languages alive in the world today, over half will be dead before the end of the century? Most of them within our lifetimes? It sounds like blasphemy, but it makes me want to leave school and travel the word with a tape recorder, my goodness.

Hey everyone!

Has everyone heard about the theory there may be dinosaurs living in a remote part of the Congo? No joke! I can hardly believe it myself. I mean, to be fair, all we really have at the moment is anecdotal evidence from the occasional explorer and the local pygmies, but WHAT IF? I MEAN, GOOD GRAVY!

Reports have been coming in for hundreds of years, and they all seem to suggest that a beast—or rather, several beasts—seem to have defied evolution and are still roaming around the jungle in one of the few areas of the world relatively unaffected by the Ice Age. Herbivores, from the sound of it; apatasaurus and diplodocus, to be specific. A little Google work turned up a few accounts of what the creatures have left behind—massive footprints, the size of an elephants but with clawed toes, descriptions of long-necked beasts with leathery hides and a penchant for vegetables--!! I mean, can you imagine if DINOSAURS are still walking among us? I just can’t understand why there aren’t teams assembling now to canvas the place. Who’s down for a senior trip….that’s willing to finance?

I think we’ll need extra mosquito netting.

Oh um by the way, I'm Owen Little, sophomore. Language/anthropology/archaeology majors represent? Oh God...
